On Thursday, the Tennessee Titans officially announced that they will waive Pro Bowl guard Roger Saffold.
Roger Saffold signed a four-year, $44 million contract in 2019, and cutting him would free up $10.4 million in cap space for the Tennessee Titans. Previously, the Tennessee Titans total salary exceeded the salary cap by $5 million.
Roger Saffold has started 46 of 49 Tennessee Titans games over the past three seasons. The veteran is one of the leaders on the team, and despite being plagued by injuries last season, he still earned a Pro Bowl nomination.
Roger Saffold, a 2010 second-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams, started 157 of his 160 career games. Players on the Tennessee Titans who could replace him at left guard include sophomore Dillon Radunz and junior Aaron Brewer.
